The Blueprint is Uptick’s new podcast for the fire and security industry. Hosted by Kyle Jones and Billy Remmington, it looks at the real issues teams face every day — from hiring challenges and skill gaps to outdated tech. Each episode brings in voices from across the sector to share what’s working, what’s not, and how we move the industry forward.

We talk to fire and security businesses every day. No matter the size, the same things keep coming up: hiring’s tough, there are skill gaps, and outdated systems are slowing teams down.

That’s why we’ve launched The Blueprint.

This isn’t another boring industry podcast. It’s a space for real voices from the fire and security sector — sharing what’s working, what’s not, and calling out what needs to change.

Hosted by Kyle Jones and Billy Remmington, each episode features people who know the industry inside out and aren’t afraid to challenge the “we’ve always done it this way” mindset.

In the first few episodes, we cover:
  • The hiring mistakes we keep seeing (and how to avoid them).
  • How to attract and keep the right people.
  • Why skill gaps keep opening up, and how to close them.
  • The messy state of most tech stacks, and how to clean them up.

If you work in fire and security and want to make things run better (not just faster) this is for you.

First episode drops Thursday 5 June.
